Tori Reeh goes catchin!

Well, I've been getting hounded by my daughter Tori that she was ready for me to take her fishing again. With a 50% chance of rain for the weather outlook I was kinda leery whether we were going to be able to wet a line. Well, the little lady spoke " Lets go anyways daddy ! " LOL... That's my girl ! A real trooper just like me ! Off to Matty we go. Get the boat ready... loaded w/ live shrimp and Evolutions, we're good to go ! We hit the surf which was a little rough to say the least. Tori was able to catch a blacktip shark, which I might add is her favorite thing to catch for some odd reason. LOL Ok...time to move...off to some spots on the ICW where we could get out of the wind. With a falling tide and plenty of bait present, Tori was able to box 4 specs, 1 sandie, 3 mangrove snapper and 1 golden croaker ! She also had a few smaller specs and croaker that were let go to grow up so she can catch them at a later date.
Tori is part of the MidCoast family thanks in part to Lane and Glynn who always make the kids feel special whether it be showing off their " cork necklaces " at the Fishing Show or helping out at the booth or, their favorite....getting free corks !
Thank you guys for making a product that helps me put smiles on kids faces and especially my own daughters face. That's a memory that lasts forever !

Way to go Kaylin!

Texas Kayak Series, Bluffs Landing 7-13-09

Sunday was the fourth and final event of the Texas Kayak Series, which is part of the Texas Saltwater Series. It is an individual event with a single live redfish weigh in. You must use artificial lures only and there is an optional two person team side pot if you want to partner up. Last year, I completed the series partnerless and was the only female competitor. Thomas, the other half of Team Notorious, was my sounding board and support system even if he was stuck at work most of the time. I ended up 10th for angler of the year for 2008!
For this 2009 season, I asked Jackie Hutton (Betty Croaker) if she would be my partner. I knew Jackie to be very dedicated and tenacious but I had no idea how amusing and sometimes hilarious she is! Jackie is new to kayak tournaments and we have somewhat different fishing styles but we thought we could make it work. Turns out it works great! So, we fished together for the three events earlier this year in Port Aransas, Rockport, Freeport and now this one in Flour Bluff.
There are some seriously excellent die-hard fishermen that fish these kayak tournaments. The list of the top 10 for angler of the year is impressive. To hear my name called amongst them makes me feel like I have come so far. I placed 4th in this years top 10. There is so much more to learn but next year…look out!

Team Bendarod

This is Terry Passmore out of Macon GA. he's another satisfied customer of Team Bendarod that is very impressed with the "Evolution" cork. The day started out slow due to the 15 knot southwest winds. But out of persistence we found a healthy school of Reds and Terry had the time of his life. Being a Freshwater Bass fisherman, he enjoyed the difference of the fight that a nice 6-10# Red produces. I feel sure he will be hooked for life on inshore saltwater fishing. Thanks for a Great Product!!!
