Team Bendarod
Team Bendarod fishing the IFA Redfish Tour in Charleston, SC. March 20th 2010.
Fishing was easy as Capt. Jerry and myself worked several Big Schools of Reds that we had located a couple of weeks ago. The problem for us was the fact that we couldn't catch a Red in the size slot which is 15 - 23 inches. We had managed to catch eight Reds 5 of which were over the slot and 3 under along with having to leave areas due to locals fishing with bait which tournament rules require you to leave the area. The overall experience was awesome due to the weather and the Redfishing in Charleston, one of the best fishing estuaries that I have ever fished in. Many thanks to our sponsors: Southern Eagle Dist., Midcoast Products, Buggs Lures, Okuma Reels and Kubala Kustom Rods

Georgia Redfish
We have had cooler than normal temperatures in Georgia this winter. It has kept the water temp. way down and prolonged the winter fishing pattern. The trout have fishing has suffered the most. The few trout that are caught are under sized. Today we fish hard all day as we were entered in the Fort McAllister monthly club tournament. We found dirty water in the Savannah River so we moved and found some great water in Wasaw Sound. When the tide turned and started to roll out the redfish turned on. We picked up 4 nice reds on Evolution Popping corks with a 17# leader, live shrimp and a #2 khale hook. The GA slot is 14-23 inches and our reds were 20, 22.25, 22.5 and 23 on the nose. I wish I was in one of those "high dollar" tournaments today. The bite turned on at the end of our trip and we left them biting to make it to the weigh in across town. I hope this is a sign that spring is hear and the fish will be jumping in the boat again. Thanks cork guys for the tools to get the job done.
