Our kids played hooky!

Glynn & I took our kids fishing Monday in Sargent and what a day they had! We bought a quart of shrimp and headed to Mitchell's cut to find many species willing to bend the rod for the kids. No "trophies" to speak of but you couldn't convince them of it, the smiles tell it all. Check out the "spot" on the tail of the redfish that my youngest son caught, is that cool or what? They may have all skipped school that day but what they learned on the water can't be taught from a class room!

Its been getting a bit chilly here but we have managed a few good catches. The striped bass are starting to turn on and good catches of trout and reds continue to come to the dock. Here are a few pics from some family fishing on Thanksgiving Day. The Evolution was the cork of choice as the wind laid down and the water temps are begining to drop. The fish were caught on light tackle on a live shrimp. I hope to have more pictures and reports to follow. Tight Lines!

I've really enjoyed using your floats this season, they have put allot of fish in the box for my clients. I had a customer last week from Rode Island, he brought along his 9-year old son and the boy fell in love with the fish catching ability of the Evolution. I had a new pink one on his line and he had no problem seeing it in the chop. Throughout the trip he kept commenting on how much he liked it, so when we got back to the dock I cut it off the line. When handing it to the boy I showed them both the web address printed on the body, so don't be surprised if you get inquiries from the upper East Coast. I've enclosed a photo of the younger member of another father and son outing recently. These guys ended the day with a very heavy box of trout, reds and drum. Matt had never caught a trout until that day, his 24" trout was the highlight of the trip, don't think it would have been possible without the Evolution!

Report from Capt. Reeh

I ran the cast part of a cast and blast trip out of the FullStringer Lodge with 4 J Outfitters running the show for the Mac Steel group. Jeremy Bryan, owner and guide of 4 J Outfitters, had me run half of his party out for a morning fishing while he took the other half to duck hunt. Working MidCoast Products Evolution corks and DOA shrimp along with DOA Cal swimming shad, Thomas,Mike and Jose were able to box 14 trout and 1 red in the river. When the bite slowed around 9:30, the only thing that produced fish was the pop/slurp sound of the Evolution cork ! Way to go Lane and Glynn for making a great pop'n cork. After the morning fish and duck hunt Jeremy took his group on a evening dove hunt. David Cassady, owner of Full Stringer Lodge, was invited along for the hunt. Full limits and happy clients was the report I got as David Cassady told me with a smile on his face! Another fun filled weekend in Matagorda was had by all!

Latest out of Georgia!

We have continued to wear out the fish here in Georgia. These fish cant resist the clack-click-pop of the Evolution, Rage and Outcast. I also had the pleasure of meeting the self proclaimed "GA Cork Guys" at a local tournament. Thanks Cork Guys!

Another win with the Evolution!

It has been a tough couple days of fishing. We got about 4 inches of rain on Friday. The fish I was on have moved. We worked hard all day throwing the OUTCAST cork into the wind and switching to the EVOLUTION when conditions allowed. I picked up this nice Striped Bass on a live shrimp under the Evolution. He took that cork for a ride but 10 minutes later this big boy was back boatside. I took 1st prize in the local trout tournament by just over a pound. Thanks for helping me get this big slob to bite.

Inticer in the rain!

Capt. Rick had an 8 hour charter for Miss Judy Charters. Today winds were a steady 25 knots out of the East/Northeast and Raining - from showers to downpours. Water temp was 67° at most locations. We fished all the outgoing and a couple of hours of incoming. When we found clear water we caught fish.
I have a pair of FROGG TOGGS and guess what ? They are not waterproof. After a few hours of hard rain I was soaked to the skin. We kept a few nice trout - largest was 21.5 inches and a shade over 4lbs. Also released a few reds, but kept a 10.3 lb black drum. Both of these fish were caught using a black Inticer.

Georgia "Cork Guys" win again

Team Bend a Rod Had another great day with the EVOLUTION Corks placing Third once again in the Red and Trout weigh in. I don't know what it is , but we just can't seem to break that third place. One thing though we caught a 28" and 30" Red that we tagged and released for the DNR. The weather wasn't that great but the fishing was good!!! We just can't put those EVOLUTION Corks down, THEY ARE HOT!!!

Outcast in the wind!

The wind has been rough this past week and the fishing has been .....GREAT! We've had huge tides and stiff winds but that's nothing a little hardwork and an OUTCAST couldn't fix. I've been using the OUTCAST to be able to place my live shrimp, mud minnow or artificial bait in the "zone". If you can locate the clean water, you will find the fish. Tight Lines!

Evolution wins in Matagorda!

Midcoast Products Evolution showed us the money on 10/10/08 ! A company fishing tourney for Intertek took place on Friday between 12 boats down in Matty. I was pleased to take Mike, Tim and Tamara in search of the " money fish ". Armed w/ Evolutions and live shrimp along w/ some Gulps! we were able to make a pay day w/ biggest redfish @ 7 1/2 lbs and biggest flounder @ 3 1/2 lbs. The casting distance of the Evolution was the key player in making this trip a success as I was not able to get close to the reefs we were fishing because of fishing out of a borrowed boat. (deeper draft). Thanks go to Lane and Glynn for producing a superior pop'n cork which in return helps me and my clients have days such as the one we had on tourney day...... a success !

Another win for the Evolution!

Capt Jerry and I fished the Alee Shiners Tournament today for Cripple Children's Hospital; conditions were tough as we battled 15 to 25kt winds out of the NE as well as thunderstorms all day. The tournament consisted of a 5 fish weigh in of two Reds and three Trout. We started out with a mission after loading up our mouths the night before at the Captains Meeting boasting of going to place in the top 3 and having the biggest Red at weigh in (This was all done of course after having a few Budweiser's and catching a little rousing from friends about our Midcoast Cork Necklaces). When we arrived this morning at one of our drops we were questioning ourselves if the Evolution Cork would perform as well as last Saturdays tournament due to conditions of the wind and elements of this tournament and plus all the bragging that we had done at the Captains Meeting. So with that there was no doubt that we would put the Evolution to the test. By 9am Capt Jerry had already landed two Reds that we knew would put us in contention as long as we had three decent size Trout to go with them by weigh in. Well we caught the Trout that we needed after battling winds and rain all day and to our surprise as well as our relief we did come in 3rd Place. And Capt Jerry "Dog Bendarod Bounty Hunter" missed having the largest Red by 4oz. The Evolution Cork was again successful in some of the worst conditions that we have fished in this year. Thanks for the Innovative Evolution Cork as it helped us back our mouths up.

Redfish on the Evolution!

Redfishing has been great the past couple of weeks w/Capt Patrick Whittenburg. We've been hitting a lot of spoil banks and back lake areas and the reds have been everywhere. Fall redfishing at its best! Recently though I started using the Midcoast Evolution cork. For a while I'd been using the competitors corks and i must say that after using the 'Evolution' I can truly notice a difference. I've definitely had more hookups. I'm not sure if its the chug that it makes or the clicking but there is something about it that calls those redfish in! Fished w/a Gulp underneath it is deadly! Thanks for the great corks and tight lines!

Hot Pink Evolution!

I had the pleasure of fishing with this young lady and her father this weekend. Her Dad was off to a good start as we landed 15 redfish in short order. Next 2 nice flounder came over the rail. This young lady turned up the heat on her Dad and managed to make her Hot Pink Evolution cork sink cast after cast. We pulled in several nice black drum, sheepshead and topped the cooler off with a few trout. The cooler was full and the anglers were happy. What a great day on the water. Thanks Cork Guys!

Team Bend a Rod/Midcoast Products

Lane and Glynn,
Captain Jerry Boaen and I fished a local tournament today in Savannah consisting of 109 anglers benefiting the Georgia Special Olympics, whichraised $7000.00. We had both brought five rods each with various corks on them. We decided to start off with the EVOLUTION and couldn't have made abetter choice. I made a cast and as soon as I popped the cork, BAM!!! a 23 inch Red hit. The unique sound that the cork made was so similar to a fleeing bait fish that it was everything I could do to keep Jerry from jumping in the water wanting to eat that cork himself. In Georgia the slot is 14"-23" with a creel limit of 5 on Reds. The tournament was a total weight of three Reds per angler, within 4 hrs. we were actually throwing back 19-21 inch Reds having already caught our 3 Reds each. To make a long story short, we took 3rd and 4th place and also caught the Red with the most spots (14). The Red with the most spots won a special edition CCA G-Loomis Rod. Jerry and I had made a necklace with three Midcoast Corks for the Captains Meeting Friday night and Saturday at the weigh in. We were quite the buzz and raised a lot of conversation about Midcoast Products. I have to mention that by the end of the weigh in they were calling us the "Cork Guys" hope you don't mind. The Evolution was the only cork that we used all day, man what a cork! Thanks for everything!

Capt. Eric's Happy Hour!

Many of the local Georgia anglers refer to the time after work untill dark as "Happy Hour". Happy hour will get shorter and shorter as do the days moving toward the winter. Well today I have a "Happy Hour" report for you. My Dad was in town and we loaded up to try to catch a few trout before the sunset. The wind started BLOWING hard about 20+kts from the SW. This made fishing very challeging. The tide was falling at a rapid rate. The trout bite started slow and stayed that way. We landed only one keeper with 6 throw backs. We released 3 reds with one being under the slot and 2 over the slot. I'll try to post pics later, if I can figure out how to get them off my cell phone. All fish were caught under the Rage and Evolution popping corks. Here's my boy with the only keeper trout. Thank Cork Guys!

Capt. Eric gets a surprise!

As we were wearing out the fish on the Evolution an interesting thing happened. I caught a redfish that I had caught 2 weeks prior. When I got the fish in the boat I noticed something hanging out his bottom. It was my color, size and style hook, knot and leader. The fish was caught and released after it swollowed a hook too deep to retrieve 2 weeks prior. The hook went through its system and was about to be expelled when he was caught again. I think its safe to say he wont be biting again. Its hard to tell in the pic but the large flounder is over 5lbs. Thanks Again Cork Guys!

Evolution @ night!

I had the pleasure of fishing with Capt. Bert Deener a biologist, fishing guide and writer from southern Georgia. Night fishing was our plan. We were both eager to wet a line after our first trip was postponed. The wind was blowing hard from the NE and the tides were less than ideal. The trout were a bit slower than normal but we did catch several keepers under the Evolution popping corks. Bert snapped a few shots on our trip. We had a blast!

Capt. Eric's kids

I had the pleasure of taking the kids out to wet a line. The water temp is 78 and the wind has been blowing NE for days. We had a few sprinkles but my crew toughed the conditions. They landed several reds, black drum, croaker and flounder on the Rage popping corks. My daughter had the 3 biggest of the day 2 around 30" and one slightly smaller. I had the Rage rigged to their litte zebco's. It was great to watch them cast and reel the fish in all on their own.

Capt. Jim loves our corks

I have been using the Outcast and Inticer for over a year now. I find them to be the most effective popping corks on the market a true leader in today’s many choices of corks. I have tag more Reds this year for the DNR than I have in years past using the traditional corks of yesterday. My clients love the Outcast as it is heavier and easier to cast, yet you’re able to use lightweight tackle making all species of fish feeling like the Big One. A cork that is 99.9% tangle free, yet gives your bait the most natural look. It is truly amazing watching your bait pop the top of the water as a predator is getting ready to pounce upon it .Thanks for a great product!

Inticer wins again in Georgia!

Capt. Rick had a charter for Miss Judy Charters. Today winds were 15- 20out of the north. As Capt. Jeremy reported the tides were extreme today like yesterday. We had a 9.2 foot high tide at the Savannah Sheritan today. We decided to fish in close and we worked over the Wilmington river all the way to the Savannah River.
We caught plenty of keeper trout, a lot of bluefish and some ladyfish as well. One of the guys lost a huge trout at the boat as well as a 3 foot Gar that I broke off at the boat. We were able to find clean water in most places. Water temp was 78° in Turner Creek and the Wilmington River, but it went as high as 80° on some of the Mud flats that we fished.
All fish were caught on live shrimp and the INTICER POPPING CORK from Midcoast. I have info and a link to their site on my homepage. This cork outfished the Bass Pro Shop Inshore Extreme and a traditional float. Half way thru the charter, the person using the other type of floats asked to be switched to the Inticer!

Could your corks work too well?

We caught a good mess of fish this weekend but ran into an interesting problem. The fish would strike at the cork before finding the bait. Time after time, the trout would strike the cork and sink to get the shrimp. We used the RAGE and Evolution corks to bring this mess of fish to the dock. Thanks Cork Guys!
